From a young age, our founder found joy in the simple act of cooking and sharing food. He loved seeing smiles light up faces after every meal he served — that feeling of warmth and connection became his lifelong inspiration.

Driven by a desire to create food that nourishes both body and soul, he dreamt of offering something healthy, light, and wholesome — free from excess oil and heaviness. That’s when the humble idli captured his heart. Soft, simple, and satisfying, it perfectly reflected his belief that good food doesn’t need to be complicated.

Determined to master the art, he travelled to South India and spent two years learning the traditional methods of preparing authentic idlis — understanding every grain, texture, and steam.

Every idea starts with a feeling — and for us, it was nostalgia and love for simple, honest food.
Growing up, food was never just about taste. It was about comfort, care, and connection. Among all the dishes that defined our childhood, idli always held a special place — soft, light, healthy, and made with love.

But as time went by, the humble idli began to fade from people’s daily lives. Fast food took over — oily, artificial, and far from the warmth of home-cooked meals. That’s when the idea of IDLO was born — to bring back the soul of traditional South Indian food, in a way that feels fresh and exciting for today’s generation.
